미국 캘리포니아 로스앤젤레스 출신으로 고등학교 동료 애덤 리바인, 제시 키마이클, 미키 매든, 라이언 더시크가 1997년 결성한 카라스 플라워스 (Kara's Flowers)가 전신입니다. 그 후 학업으로 인해 해산하지만 기타로 제임스 발렌타인을 영입한 후 마룬5를 결성하였네요. 도중에 드럼의 라이언 더시크가 부상악화로 탈퇴를 하고, 드러머 맷 플린을 영입, 현재의 마룬5가 되었습니다.
